Community Involvement Including GLBT Community
F.O.R.C.E (Families of Caring Responsible Employees)

Manchester Grand Hyatt gives back to the community in which we serve millions of dollars of support through community volunteer work through our F.O.R.C.E. program Families of Responsible Caring Employee’s. This amount is based of calculating the wages and compensation paid to associates that provide their time and efforts and resources to make San Diego a Great Place to work and live. We continue to voice our welcoming support for the GLBT Community. We will continue to welcome and support myriad diverse communities and interest holders here in San Diego. This certainly includes the GLBT Community.

Manchester Grand Hyatt has had a stellar record of providing major support to the GLBT Community through the years. Our estimated Financial Support not including the ASAE Diversity donation is $577,611. Our contribution is not only financial but also in the spirit of inclusion and we uphold the strong values of Hyatt by not discriminating against this community. We are proud of our work within the GLBT community and we will continue to reach out and lend our support.

This list of financial support does not include 100% of our financial support but is a representation of our SOLID and LOYAL commitment to the GLBT community. We hope that our level of past and future support will outweigh the independent actions of a personal donation of $125,000 by a private citizen who happens to be the owner. This independent action does not represent Hyatt Hotel Corporation or our views or actions.

Know the Truth

  • Mr. Manchester gave $125,000 contribution to “Yes on 8” campaign.
  • After passage, the gay community focused its anger at Mr. Manchester, and others, by initiating a well organized boycott and negative press generating campaign.
  • Local union, Unite Here, sensing a vulnerability, latched onto this opportunity to press for unionization of the property, bringing up old and baseless charges about Room Attendants.
  • Unite Here initiated an aggressive proactive campaign to divert existing convention business.
  • Activists have ignored Hyatt’s strong and lengthy history of diversity, equality and support for the gay and lesbian community in order to go after Mr. Manchester and Manchester Grand Hyatt.
